Love the Pietradolce. All their wines are solid. Also, they bottle some centenarian vines that look an absolute wreck but obviously have sorted out how to grow great fruit.
I like the Thymiopoulos as well and it’s great value. Glad I’m not the only one who prefers old school Rioja - it’s not trendy to hold that opinion but who cares!
Really appreciate the honesty about gravitating toward complex but light reds. That Xinomavro from Naoussa is such a sleeper, barely anyone talks abot it but its got this structure that just works with food without overpowering. I had a similar moment trying to explain regional Greek wines to family who think wine = France/Italy, and its wild how much effort it takes to get people to just try something different.

Honestly, the Boris (as I call it) from the Adnams shops is a bargain and over delivers in old-school charm.
